Laine arrived at 11am today and we drove up the hill to Crow's Ear Farm where she would meet for the second time her counterpart Lyle for this weekends' Summer Event at Woodside! She quickly saddled him up and they swiftly headed toward our new farm's dressage court that once graced our beautiful VA farm. Instantly Lyle went on the bit and was rounder, slower and more through with his elegant tall body and the two looked like there was not the 3 week hiatus apart from their initial visit! I am very thrilled how far Lyle, "The Big Island" has come since we started him 3 1/2 months ago.....his last race being THIS APRIL at Golden Gate Fields! Win, lose or draw....this coming event should be so much fun and such a learning experience for our boy. The reward has been the road leading up to it...
I feel so confidant in the horse I bought this spring. He definitely will be an upper level partner down the not too distant road for some deserving and ambitious rider.
